The Premier League never stands still. Each year brings new storylines, fresh rivalries, and unexpected twists that keep fans hooked from August to May. As we dive into the early stages of the 2025-26 campaign, it’s fascinating to look back at 2024-25 and see how much has changed.

Last Season in Review: Liverpool’s Return to the Top
The 2024-25 season saw Liverpool lift the Premier League trophy with 84 points and a +45 goal difference. It wasn’t a record-breaking stats, but it was enough to hold off Arsenal (74 pts) and Manchester City (71 pts). Liverpool’s consistency, defensive strength, and diversity in attack made the difference. Their 84-point total, however, was notably lower than previous champions, which is a sign that the league had become more balanced.

This Season So Far: Arsenal’s Early Lead
Fast forward to autumn 2025, and the Premier League table already looks very different. After around 10 matches, the Gunners sit firmly on top, while some familiar names are still playing catch-up. After finishing second last year, Arsenal look sharper, deeper, and more ruthless. Their defense has tightened, and their attack feels more balanced. If they can maintain consistency, this might finally be the season they end their title drought.

Liverpool’s Stumble and Mancity's Chase
Despite last year’s title, Liverpool’s early 2025-26 form is underwhelming. From round 6 to 9, Liverpool has lost 4 games in a row. Salah's under performance and Wirtz's struggle have become major issues for the team. They are still in the title race, but their current games only make up worries and concerns.
Mancity, not dominating the league like the last few seasons, is still placed in 2nd to chase up Arsenal. They have scored the most goals in the league at the moment with Haaland's incredible goal scoring pace. With consistency, Mancity would be able to step up from the last season, finishing at 3rd, and lift up the trophy like how they used to do.

Tottenham and Manunited to the top 5
Tottenham and Manunited are the teams that most improved from their previous season. The both teams were near to the relegation and performed very poorly. However, the teams are at the spot where they can aim to finish in the top 5 and get their tickets to the Champions League. There has been some inconsistency for the both teams, but it is still a huge improvement compared to the last season.

Sunderland and Bournemouth surprise
Promoted just months ago, Sunderland have been fearless. With 18 points already, they’re mixing it up with the league’s elite teams. Their high pressing and youthful energy have made them one of the season’s early fairytales for them. Also, Bournemouth’s steady climb is one of the Premier League’s most underrated stories. After finishing comfortably mid-table last season, they’re now seeking for the European spots. Smart recruitment and strong tactical organization are paying off.
