맨시티: 센터백들이 거의 전진하지 않고 정상적인 포백 운용, 베실바가 많이 내려왔다. 포든, 알바레즈, 실바가 많이 스위칭을 하였다. 중원에 코바시치, 로드리, 베실바, 도쿠까지 많이 들어오며 중원 숫자를 늘렸다. 그바르디올과 워커가 각 사이드에서 넓게 벌려있었다. 볼을 뺏기고 바로 압박하기 때문에 경기를 볼 소유권을 거의 잃지 않았다. 한쪽 사이드로 선수를 집중시키고 반대편으로 반대전환하는 장면이 많이 나왔다.
Mancity: The center backs stayed at their defensive line which was not usual for Mancity. Silva came down to help with the build-ups. Foden, Alvarez, and Silva switched a lot. In the mid, Kovacic, Rodri, Silva, and Doku stayed making a win for Mancity in the midfield area. Mancity pressured right away the second they lost their ball. They also had some good transition plays from one side to another.
뉴캐슬: 당연히 수비적인 플레이로 역습을 노렸다. 선수들이 굉장히 중앙에 밀집되어 있었다. 수비시에는 5-4-1로 이삭만 전방에 두었다. 뒷공간 침투가 매우 잘 되어 역습이 매우 날카로웠다. 공수전환도 매우 빨랐다.
Newcastle: Played as defensive, aiming for counterattacks. The players were in a 5-4-1 formation with only Isak staying up top and staying tight when defending. Newcastle played well using their counter-attacks. The transition from attack and defense was very fast also.
시티에게 좋은 찬스가 많았지만 결정력의 문제가 드러났다. 홀란드의 부상으로 알바레즈가 나왔지만 파괴력을 보여주지 못 하였다. 오히려 뉴캐슬이 날카로운 역습들로 승기를 잡았다.
Mancity had many great chances, but there were problems with the finishes. Alvarez was in the starting line due to Haaland's injury, however, he did not play well in this game. Newcastle was the team that made their chances to goals.
